In a previous post I detailed how my Speck Candyshell broke during use. I contacted Speck’s customer service and they agreed to send me a replacement covered by the warranty. Because my “Lemondrop” black and yellow case is no longer in production, I was able to pick from any of the new designs to be sent to me! I selected the “Batwing Black” case, and it arrived today. It is not that different from my old Candyshell, but there is one major difference I have thus far noticed- it is much easier to press the standby button on top of the phone. The Candyshell’s design covers the standby button with silicon, and the older version of the case had rather rigid silicon that made pressing the button tedious. The newer version seems to be made with a more pliable material, therefore making it easier to use. Removing the case is still vexatious, but while the Speck Candyshell is on it works flawlessly, looks impeccable and protects the iPhone well.
